Pause immediately before skin puncture; repeat if the procedure or site changes.
Albumin guidance from the supplied template: BSG/BASL recommends albumin after removal of more than 5 L at 8 g per litre of total ascites removed. Consider the same dose below 5 L with acute-on-chronic liver failure or high risk of post-paracentesis AKI. With 20% albumin, this is 100 mL for every 2.5 litres drained.
Drain should be removed within 6 hours of insertion. Complete this section when the drain is removed.
