Your accreditation guide
FUSIC-Heart
How to get accredited, step by step, with training and support at MYTT.
-
Step 1
Do a course
Attend an ICS-approved face-to-face FUSIC-Heart course or complete the online learning through the Intensive Care Society (ICS) learning portal.
Register for FUSIC-Heart on the ICS website by adding the module to your basket. Registration includes access to the online learning.
-
Step 2
Arrange a mentor
Contact a FUSIC-Heart mentor at MYTT and agree who will support you before you start your logbook. Your mentor will help you develop your technique, review your scans and put you in touch with a supervisor for your final assessment.

Step 3
Start scanning
50scans in total, as a minimum
10of these scans directly supervised by a mentor, as a minimum
The 10 mentored scans can be spaced throughout your logbook. They do not need to be your first 10 scans. Any of the listed MYTT Heart mentors can supervise these scans; you can complete your 10 mentored scans with different mentors.
Record your scans in the ICS logbook and review your progress regularly with your mentor. Complete your logbook within 12 months, and the full accreditation pathway within 24 months.
-
Step 4
Complete your Triggered Assessment
Once your mentor has reviewed your logbook and signed off your competencies, they will arrange for you to perform an observed scan with an approved ICS assessor.
Submit your assessment documents, including your signed Summary of Training record, through the ICS portal for accreditation.
